A relaxed day out through Mid Wales, for couples and groups who want to see a bit of everything, without the stress of driving. You get time at Meirion Mill. Drive past Talyllyn Lake and take in mountain views. Breathe in Sea Air and walk the Sands at Aberdyfi, then a wander around the Historic Market Town of Machynlleth before heading back to the Welshpool area.

You are collected from an agreed point and we head out through unspoilt countryside towards Meirion Mill which was originally built in 1867 to serve as a warehouse for Minllyn Slate Quarry. It was later converted into a Wollen Mill in 1946. Here you have time to browse woollen goods and quality locally produced gifts, and stretch your legs after the first part of the journey.

This section is all about the scenery. A brief stop at this natural lake formed by a large landslide when it was a glaciated valley thus damming up the lake area. Talyllyn literally means 'the end of the lake' . The Welsh name Mwyngil is made up of Mwn (neck) and cul (narrow). It sits peacefully below Cadair Idris in the Snowdonia Mountain Range and is perfect for views and tranquility. A calm pause in the day.

Head down to Aberdyfi for sea views of the Dyfi Estuary. Arriving around lunchtime. You have around two hours here, which is enough for an unhurried lunch, a walk along the seafront and harbour, and a little time on the sand if the weather is kind. There are a number of small local shops and eateries available but less tourists than other coastal towns.

If you would like to add an underground storytelling experience to your day, you can include King Arthur’s Labyrinth at Corris as an extra stop.
Sail through the magical veil of an underground waterfall into a mythical world filled with dragons, giants, fierce battles and the legendary King Arthur. Welsh legends unfold as you explore the vast underground caverns and winding tunnels of the Labyrinth with your guide – a hooded Dark Age Boatman.
Add-on cost: +£50 to the tour price, plus entrance tickets.

Finish the sightseeing with time in Machynlleth with a short stroll around the Historic Market Town of only just over 2000 people. It is linked with Owain Glyndŵr’s 1404 parliament where he was crowned Prince of Wales infront of leaders from Scotland, Spain and France. The Royal House is reputed to have been the location where Charles 1 stayed in 1643. The Town Clock was built in 1874 by the towns folk to commemorate the coming of age of the eldest son of the 5th Marquess of Londonderry who lived at Y Plas in the Town. There has been a Wednesday market held here for 700 years. It was also the location of Laura Ashleys first shop in 1961.
